Hello Garwenne My cat always dips her whole paw in it, and as the fountain stands on four short legs, I have always had the feeling that the surface is well distributed and the fountain is stable. However, I have placed it on a small carpet so that no water can run onto the parquet floor, as my cat likes to shake her paw. I don't know how much your cat pulls on it, but I can't imagine it really tipping over as it has a rather "round" shape and the centre of gravity is rather low.

there are no settings
I only clean the appliance about 2x a week and the filter has to be changed every 4 weeks according to the instructions in the manual.

It is best to descale the pump, maybe it will work afterwards. To descale, simply place in vinegar water 5 parts water 1 part vinegar. You can order the replacement pump here Catit Pump For Pixi Cat Fountain

Flashing normally means that there is no water in it. If this is the case, then it is effectively defective.

It has a European plug for the power. No battery, so must always be plugged in to work.
