Helpful answer
1. connect: Connect the My Cloud Home to the router and the power supply using an Ethernet cable. 2. set up: Open mycloud.com/hello, create an account and follow the instructions. 3rd Install the app: Download the desktop app from the WD support site, install it and sign in. 4. access: After installation, you will find the drive in the Finder under "Places". Done!

I can't give you an answer to the first question regarding access rights, but in my opinion every NAS should have your DLNA server. DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) is only a storage medium that can play back the contents in a network. A NAS is therefore responsible for exactly this. Synology, for example, provides exactly these services for video, pictures and music. I would be surprised if WD could not do this.
