The "Queen Anne's Revenge" was a ship from the early 18th century, most famously used as the flagship of Edward Teach, better known by his nickname Blackbeard. Although the date and place of its construction are uncertain, it was originally believed to have been built in 1710 for trade service in Bristol, England, and named Concord, later captured by French privateers and renamed La Concorde. After several years in French service, it was seized by Blackbeard in 1717. Blackbeard used the ship for less than a year but captured numerous prizes by employing it as his flagship.
