These chisels (chisels) are forged by hand from a special tool steel. The forging process further improves the material structure of the chisels. Heat treatment in a salt bath produces a hardness of ± HRc 61 over the entire useful length of the blade, which is well above the German DIN requirement. An in-house developed polishing technique creates a groove-free surface that enables a smooth cut and easier plunging into the wood.

The chisels are manufactured ex works with a cutting edge angle of 25°. This angle is ideal for soft to medium-hard wood. However, before the chisels are used for the first time, they should be sharpened with a whetstone to ensure that the cutting edge is razor-sharp for the first use. To be able to work successfully with the chisel for many years, it is recommended to clean the tool after each use with a lightly oiled cloth. The resulting oil film protects the chisel from moisture and thus from rust.
