Art Heist in North Frisia: Art student Harry Oldenburg wants to remedy the chronic emptiness in his wallet and steals various Nolde paintings from the museum in Seebüll. He hastily flees on the first ferry to Amrum, where he plans to go into hiding for the time being. However, in the autumnal island idyll, the shy Harry soon finds himself pursued by a rude ferryman, a lovesick vacationer, and an exceedingly curious innkeeper. The more he tries to rid himself of these uncomfortable people, the more difficult their disposal becomes. Soon, Harry finds the atmosphere on Amrum too hot to handle. A dramatic escape across the islands and the mudflats begins.
