Its thin, concave shape directs upwards, allowing for the natural position of the tongue. Special grooves imitate the natural roughness of the palate, providing important reference points to keep the tongue actively held in its physiological position. Rounded sides evenly distribute the pressure of the tongue on the palate for proper development.
