You have to attach the display foil yourself; I couldn't do it without air bubbles and removed the foil again and crumpled it up annoyed and threw it in the rubbish ;-)
I use the device without the film; it is absolutely problem-free. I recommend the Staedtler Noris Digital Jumbo pen. This has a slightly softer tip which is more gentle on the display and is also more suitable for fine drawings (at least for me).

Thank you very much for your answers. The manufacturer seems to have recognised the problem with the foil and is now delivering the devices with the foils already installed. I am therefore waiting until these models are available here (supposedly better writing feel).

The display foil was supplied separately with my Note Air. Since I read reports on the Internet that it was virtually impossible to apply the film without air bubbles, I gave up trying and use the device without the film.
