Question about FRITZ!Box 4040 - 245410
The specification says "Fibre connection: Yes". This is not correct. The description says it can be connected to a fibre modem. Why would you do this if the Fritzbox itself had a connection? I bought this router for my parents and it did NOT have a fibre connection.
Well noticed, Digitec should correct that - something like that corrupts the nice product filter ...
The part does not have a fibre optic connection. To operate the router directly on the fibre optic connection (i.e. without a Swisscom box or similar in between) you need a fair amount of technical know-how (this is only for network professionals) and this converter here: TP-LINK MC220L, 1x SFP 1000Base-SX/LX/LH, 1x RJ45 1000Base-T (Media Converter)
