Question about Synology Ds418

Hello everyone, I have a Synology DS411 with all the latest updates, which I upgraded a week ago from three WD "Green" disks with 2TB each (RAID5) to four WD "Red" disks with 4TB each (RAID5). Everything works, but the write access is very slow (about 15-20MB/sec. over larger files). I only use Linux as OS and connect the NAS to the local network via Ethernet and NFS. I do not use any other services of the Synology. It is also not accessible from the internet. My question: Can I achieve a significant speed gain by replacing the somewhat older DS411 with, for example, a DS418? What values do you achieve here when writing larger files (on RAID5)? Greetings Pit.

Helpful answer

According to this link, the ds411 does not manage too high write speeds either:

https://global.download.synology.com/download...

--> Synology DS411 delivers an average read speed of 105.3 MB/sec.
of 105.3 MB/sec in a RAID 5 configuration in a Windows environment,
while the write speed is 47.8 MB/sec.
in a Windows environment.

the ds418 achieves quite a bit more according to this link:

https://www.synology.com/de-de...

Performance
Sequential throughput of over 226 MB/s (read) and 170 MB/s (write)

but if this is the right choice for you, you have to decide for yourself :-)
