Hard drive for surveillance systems with 6 TB. SATA III interface with a data transfer rate of up to 6 Gbps. Specifically designed for security surveillance systems, it minimizes losses in video quality. TLER and ATA streaming support are included. Suitable for 24/7 operation. The AllFrame 4K firmware enables HQ recording with up to 64 cameras.

WD Purple drives are equipped with AllFrame technology, which reduces pixel errors and video interruptions through ATA streaming. These errors often occur when standard desktop hard drives are used in security systems. Additionally, the caching algorithms are optimized for write-intensive and demanding low-bitrate streaming applications, which are typical for surveillance applications.

Thus, WD Purple drives are ideal for HD surveillance systems in continuous operation, supporting up to eight hard drives and 64 cameras. Low power consumption is crucial in surveillance environments with high temperatures and constant operation. WD Purple drives calculate optimal speeds for search operations, reducing power consumption, noise, and vibrations. By investing in high-quality surveillance drives, you gain enhanced security and enjoy the benefits over a longer period.

In computer science, a buffer is a region of a physical memory storage used to temporarily hold data while it is being moved from one place to another. Typically, the data is stored in a buffer as it is retrieved from an input device (such as a mouse) or just before it is sent to an output device (such as speakers). However, a buffer may be used when moving data between processes within a computer. This is comparable to buffers in telecommunication. Buffers can be implemented in a fixed memory location in hardware - or by using a virtual data buffer in software, pointing at a location in the physical memory. In all cases, the data stored in a data buffer, are stored on a physical storage media.
