Due to its low tendency to warp, wood can be printed without a heated bed. If a heated bed is used, the recommended temperature is approximately 35–60 °C. Wood can be used with all common 3D desktop printers that utilize FDM or FFF technology. We recommend a nozzle larger than 0.4 mm. Storage should be cool and dry (15–25 °C) and protected from UV light to significantly increase shelf life.

Filament for 3D printers, wood from RS. Wood is a modified filament type based on PLA that smells and feels like wood. The filament is somewhat brittle but robust enough to be supplied in rolls ranging from 300 grams to 1 kg. It prints easily, but we recommend using a slightly larger nozzle to avoid clogs. Due to the low shrinkage factor, wood does not deform after cooling. Polylactic acid is a biodegradable plastic made from renewable natural resources and is one of the most popular materials for 3D printing.

It feels like wood and smells like it too. Easy to print at low temperature, very little warping, biodegradable. Preferably printed with a nozzle larger than 0.4 mm. After purchasing your filament, it is important to store it properly to maintain quality. Over time, the plastic absorbs moisture from the air, leading to small water bubbles in the filament. These bubbles quickly reach the boiling point when heated in the extruder nozzle, damaging the print. The use of desiccants to absorb moisture is highly recommended.
