I found the answer to that: HDMI or DP to DVI Dual Link 2560x1600@60Hz is not possible with such cable. there are two options: 1) get a Graphics card that has DVI Dual Link. 2) get this one Club 3D DisplayPort auf Dual Link DVI-D HDCP OFF (Digital -> Digital)

I have only tested it with the resolution 1680x1050@60Hz and 1920x1080@60Hz - both worked without problems. According to the reviews on Amazon [1], there are sometimes problems with 2560x1440@60Hz, but I haven't tested it myself. Wikipedia [2] says that DVI-D should support up to 2560x1600@60Hz. I think that with DVI you cannot achieve more than 60 Hz....
