Hello - The 1080Ti is a PCIe 3.0 card. But as far as I know, PCIe 3.0 is only possible if the board supports it. If there is only 2.0, nothing else will ever be displayed. PCIe is downward compatible... The card itself supports 3.0 of course - if it is available. I don't think this will change without a new board.

Prices are falling, but Digitec has not "yet" followed suit. Many cards are CHF 200 more expensive here than on other platforms. If nothing changes, I'll buy my 1080TI somewhere else...

That shouldn't be a problem, space-wise. The first PCIe x16 slot is intended for dual-slot GPUs anyway, and after that there is another PCIe x1 slot in between. I would be more concerned about heat generation, since the two graphics cards are right next to each other. So good case cooling is a must.
