Google has done a lot right with the Pixel Tablet. The low refresh rate and the mediocre speakers somewhat tarnish the otherwise good overall impression. The included docking station is also particularly practical, as it noticeably improves the sound quality and charges the tablet.

Tablet and smart display merge into one in the Pixel Tablet. Therefore, the purchase is particularly interesting if you have a Google-based smart home. However, if you expect more from a tablet than streaming, surfing and access to the Smart Home, you are still better off with the competition. With the Echo Show mode on Fire tablets, there are also cheaper tablets with a similar concept.

The Pixel Tablet is the most fun tablet, but it's expensive at 679 euros. You can save money with the Xiaomi Pad 5, which is available online for half the price. There is still budget for a Nest Hub (100 euros). If Android is not a must, the iPad 10 (from 499 euros) or its predecessor are the best alternatives.
