The active optical HDMI cables (AOC) of the 11943x series from equip® are a cabling technology that accepts the same electrical inputs as a conventional copper cable but uses optical fibers between the connectors to transmit HDMI signals without loss and latency. Our hybrid cable design consists of optical fibers and copper wires. High-speed TMDS signals are transmitted over the optical multimode fibers, while low-frequency control signals are transmitted over the copper wires. The high range of the active optical cables allows for transmissions over distances of up to 100 meters without degrading signal quality or requiring a separate power supply.
