I'm about to buy my new smartphone and, as a previous Galaxus user, have (actually) decided in favour of the iPhone 17. It seemed to meet my criteria best and is compatible with all mobile phone providers in Switzerland. Above all, the iPhone 17 seemed to be a consistent choice that offers stability in connectivity (even in regions with weaker signals). Connectivity is a key criterion for me. Then 2 days ago I came across the PROBLEMS of the iPhone 17 series, which have apparently been there since the beginning and which have not yet been solved (April 2026). It seems to affect millions of users, across different regions and mobile phone providers. However, the problems do not seem to follow a clear pattern: not everyone is affected. Those who are not affected seem to be delighted with the device. I'm including some links below (unfortunately it comes out as a giant tapeworm in this post, sorry). I find the breadth of deeper problems worrying: signals failing to appear, mobile phone service repeatedly cuts out, Wi-Fi cuts out. Screen stays black after charging and can no longer be switched on, smartphones that keep switching themselves off, problems activating e-Sim and much more. As far as I know, there is no clear statement from Apple. It doesn't even seem clear whether these are purely software problems. I read in one source about a presumably "fatal combination of sensor-driven hardware requirements and specific software triggers within the iOS ecosystem". I am primarily referring to the standard iPhone 17 version: WHAT ARE YOUR EXPERIENCES AND OBSERVATIONS in terms of recurring, consistent issues (not 1-2 time bugs)? If you had problems, could they be fixed with the previous updates? In view of the 3G switch-off (Sunrise 10.6.25, Swisscom end of 25), not only 4G (=data), but also VoLTE (telephoning via LTE) should be selectable for mobile phones in the filter for mobile standard. You cannot make calls with 4G without VoLTE, and some mobiles can only transmit data via 4G!

I have an idea for a filter search for smartphones. I am looking for a foldable smartphone that is fully functional on the small display. Unfortunately, the search for foldable smartphones is very cumbersome as there is no filter function.

Since the Oppo Find X9 Ultra has now been officially launched as a global ROM version, will Digitec also include it in its range and offer it here? Kind regards

Hello all I am looking for a dual sim smartphone that allows you to expand the memory with an SD card without giving up the second SIM. Which dual sim smartphones have a separate SD card slot (NOT hybrid)? Unfortunately, this search query cannot be made via Digitec. Many thanks and best regards

Does anyone have experience of whether you can have three numbers active at the same time with dual sim + eSIM?

I now own the Galaxy S24 Parking in Twint works well with WLAN. Parking in Twint does not work with mobile data. The DNS is switched on automatically. In Twint "Parking" it says: <The website is not accessible The DNS address of twint.parkingpay.ch was not found. A problem diagnosis is being carried out. Where is the error? Many thanks for your support

My father wants a small smartphone. That means the product dimension "length" as a range filter would be interesting. "Screen size" does not help. "Weight" as a range filter might be interesting.

I noticed that my Xiaomi 15 still has August Security patch, even now in December. I changed region to Germany and there was immediately a MIUI 3 update with October patch. Why is that? Do the updates work with a delay in Switzerland?

Hello / Good evening! Do you think that >7 inch non-folding smartphones could be released soon? The ideal size would be ~7.2 inches. After some research I did find a few but rather low / mid-range or with old specialists.

How can you tell if a mobile phone has FM radio reception (or DAB radio reception) in the range?

What happened to the promotion for the Oneplus 15 and Oneplus Watch 3 for CHF 899? Wasn't this supposed to run until 11.12.25? I was disappointed when it was already over on 01.12.

I have had this smartphone for a few days. When I start it up and run certain apps, I get a message that the system is rooted. Unfortunately, this also means that certain (important) apps cannot be executed, e.g. AGOV or TaxMe. What is the reason for this message? Can this be rectified or what should be done to ensure that the apps run?

Will Digitec be adding the official protective cases for the Oneplus 15 (Aramid Fibre, Sandstone) in the range?

Will digitec offer the x300 now that it has been released in Europe (Austria, Germany and others)?

Hello Together In addition to the Swiss version, an EU version is available for various Samsung smartphones. Always with the note that some functions may be blocked/limited. Are the CH phones therefore also limited in the EU? Or does this inverse conclusion not work? What about if I travel around Europe a lot and have a foreign EU SIM? Am I then better off with the EU version? Or are the CH phones unlimited everywhere? What is decisive for these functions? The SIM card inserted or the network in which the phone is currently located? Or does the mobile phone not care where it is? If anyone has more detailed information on this subject, I would be extremely grateful. I can't find any other helpful information on the Internet.

Hello everyone I'm currently toying with the idea of importing a Xiaomi 14 pro from China. I know that it comes without the B20 band and that I have to install the Playstore myself. Does anyone have any experience of smartphones without B20 in the Bern area or elsewhere in Switzerland on the Sunrise network? Or is there a map of the coverage of the Sunrise network without B20 frequency online somewhere? I find it difficult to estimate how much the lack of coverage affects the internet speed. Many thanks in advance. Kind regards Fabian

Hello I am looking for a new smartphone for just under 200. Important are a full HD screen, SD card slot and a good camera. I have looked at the 5c and P9 Lite and can't decide. The 5c looks better and has almost the same hardware. Does anyone have any experience with these phones or others that can be recommended? Thanks a lot

Hi, I've just bought one and sent it back, but after 3 days the number buttons don't work any more. Have other people had the same problem? Is it the model that is of poor quality or have I been sold a phone that is not new?

If I buy a mobile phone from you, do you take my old one and deduct the value from the price of the new one? Wenn ich bei Ihnen ein Handy kaufe, kann ich mein altes behalten und den Preis abziehen?

@digitec Any word on whether you'll be adding the new Vivo X Fold 5 to your range? The Global ROM version is already available. I would buy it immediately! Many thanks in advance

I want to replace my smartphone, this one has a USB-C 3.1 interface and I can transfer data quite fast (faster than 480mbps) from mobile to PC via cable. Now I see that so many mobiles in my price range around 450 all have USB 2.0 (Samsung A series). Only the more expensive models have USB 3.x USB 2.0 was released in the year 2000. So is it really the case that if I want to back up the internal memory of 256 GB, I'll be stone cold (480mbps is the maximum theoretical value). Have I misunderstood something? Aren't you annoyed that whenever you want to copy something down (e.g. photos after the holidays) or copy music onto it, it takes ages? Merci

Do you plan to include shiftphones and accessories in your range?

@digitec.... in 2024 it should actually be possible to filter all devices by UWB under the "Connectivity" filter.....

Hello everyone, I'm looking for a new mobile phone and don't want to spend more than 150 francs. There are so many options on the market that it's hard to find the right model. Can you give me some recommendations? Which mobiles offer the best value for money under 150 francs? I'm interested in a device with good battery life, a solid camera and smooth performance for everyday use. It should also have a reliable operating system. Thanks for your help!
