With the most characters to date and an extensive racket system, "Mario Tennis Fever" aims to bring more tactics and speed to the game.

Nintendo is launching a new spin-off of its sports game, «Mario Tennis Fever», on 12 February. The Switch 2 game combines classic tennis with the special abilities of the Super Mario characters. You can pre-order it now.

Characters and Fever rackets

A total of 38 playable characters are at your disposal. There have never been more. These include classics such as Super Mario and Bowser, but also newcomers such as Gumba and Mopsie with their very own play styles.

The game offers 30 different Fever bats with different special effects. Some bats freeze the playing field and slow down opponents, others shoot mini mushrooms that make them shrink. Choosing the right bat can lead you to victory - or not.

You also have the choice between the classic types of racket. You use topspin for fast attacks, slice for flat balls and lobs to outplay your opponent.

Scenes and wonder effects

The playing fields range from classic courts to fantasy courts. On some courts the ground conditions change during the match, on others voracious piranha plants appear.

In addition, wonder effects based on «Super Mario Bros. Wonder» appear in certain modes. These change the rules in the middle of the match. So you have to constantly adapt your strategy.

Game modes

The game offers several modes. In adventure mode, Mario, Luigi, Peach and other characters are transformed into babies and have to relearn their tennis skills. The mission towers, on the other hand, present you with a series of clearly defined challenges. In tournament mode, on the other hand, you play classic competitions with consecutive matches. The special mix mode changes the rules and court conditions: For example, you have to shoot through rings.
Multiplayer works both online against up to four players and locally with two to four people.

The Joy-Con 2 is available in the new colour combination of light purple and light green in our shop to coincide with the launch.
