Galaxy S24: Samsung has a lot of AI in the works
Samsung appears to be relying heavily on AI for the Galaxy S24. Among other things, it is supposed to translate phone calls and help create content.
The official announcement of the Galaxy S24 will not take place until January or February 2024, but some new features of the smartphone are already emerging. One has been announced by Samsung itself, the other has found its way into the public domain from an internal AI event.

Samsung announces nothing less than a "new era" in a post on its press website. In addition to a lot of praise for AI in general and its own products, there is also a concrete announcement: "AI Live Translate Call"
The function is designed to translate telephone calls live - in sound and text. According to Samsung, the integration into the system should make it better than existing solutions from third-party apps.
Samsung is not yet saying which languages AI Live Translate Call supports and is also remaining vague about availability. Apart from early next year, there is only talk of the "latest Galaxy AI phone". If this doesn't mean the Galaxy S24, then Samsung would be surprised.
Samsung's own generative AI
The second report comes from the Korea Times. It reports on an internal AI forum at Samsung. At this forum, "Gauss" was presented as a new generative AI. It will be able to create and edit content such as images and text. It can also summarise documents and help with coding.
The AI model, named after the mathematician Carl Friedrich Gauss - who developed the Gaussian normal distribution - is currently only intended for internal use at Samsung. However, according to the report, it will be integrated into the Galaxy S24 in the first half of 2024.
