Galaxy S24 appears partly with Exynos instead of Snapdragon
Samsung is once again using two different chipsets for the Galaxy S24. In addition to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, an Exynos will also be used again - but it is still unclear exactly which devices will be used.
After only using the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in the Galaxy S23, Samsung will once again work with two chipsets in the Galaxy S24. This has been confirmed by Cristiano Amon, CEO of Qualcomm. The second option is likely to be the Exynos 2400 presented at the beginning of October.
The Galaxy S24 does not always contain the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3
For years, Samsung caused discussion and disappointment with two different chipsets in its top smartphones. While Snapdragons were installed in the US devices, Samsung relied on its own Exynos processors in Europe. Any difference in performance or battery life became a big topic.
These speculations have now been confirmed by Cristiano Amon. The CEO of Snapdragon manufacturer Qualcomm revealed in a press conference on the company's quarterly figures that the partnership with Samsung would continue. His company expects to equip the "majority" of the Galaxy S24,
We're happy with our partnership with Samsung. There's the upcoming launch of the GS24. We expect to have the majority share.
At around minute 38:55, Cristiano Amon utters the decisive sentences:
- Exynos 2400: 2067 / 6520 points with Geekbench 6
- Snapdragon 8 Gen 3: 2329 / 7501 points with Geekbench 6
The question of which Galaxy S24 models Samsung will use the Exynos in remains unanswered. Will it remain with the old division by market or will Samsung ensure a greater difference between the cheapest S24 and the more expensive versions?
