European oak timber and Bio Polymer from a 3D printer: bringing Scandinavian design to bikes
From Denmark comes Tons, a brand dedicated to stylish storage solutions for cycling gear. The range includes holders for helmets, glasses, shoes and even entire bikes.
And what about all my cycling clothes and accessories? Over the years, I’ve built up quite the collection of jerseys, bib shorts, gloves, socks, tights, winter jackets, rain jackets and windbreakers. Not to mention the countless base layers, rain trousers and shorts. If you’re not snobby about other types of bikes, and own a collection of different ones (road bikes, mountain bikes and gravel bikes), you probably have multiple versions of all these accessories.
Have I missed anything? Oh yes: helmets, bike computers and shoes. And front lights. And rear lights Plural. Cycling enthusiasts are notorious for wanting to buy all the latest kit. This gear clutters up drawers and shelves, or lies around on stairs. At least that’s my experience. This is where the products from Tons come into play.
The manufacturer has provided me with some of its bestsellers to help me bring at least a little order to the chaos.

My favourite: the Tons Rack wall mount
This wall mount holds a helmet, two pairs of glasses, a bike computer and a pair of shoes. The rod is made from European oak. It’s available in the colours Natural Oak (as shown here) and, for an additional charge, in Matt Black or Smoked Oak.
Tons proudly states it uses a biodegradable Bio Polymer and sustainably sourced European oak timber. The aim is to ensure the highest quality, paired with the smallest ecological footprint. All plastic parts are made to order in the company’s own 3D printing facility in Denmark. This is how Tons avoids overproduction and reduces waste, while flat-packed designs minimise shipping volumes.
Features
- Easy to install (plugs and screws included, Torx T25 bit/screwdriver and Ø8 mm drill bit required)
- Bar made from solid European oak timber
- Holders made from Tons Bio Polymer
- Designed and manufactured in Denmark

For the pain cave: the Laptop Race Table
When it comes to indoor bike training, the marketing images used by manufacturers of bike trainers and the like are difficult to tell apart. There’s usually a keen couple sitting in a huge, immaculately tidy living room – think of a sports hall – pedalling in front of an even bigger flat screen. Surrounded by luxurious designer furniture, the pair sweat on the expensive Berber rug. Or at least that’s how it goes in the ads.
My reality looks different. To be precise:

At least the Laptop Race Table from Tons keeps things interesting with its interchangeable accessories. I fitted the bottle holder on the right and the attachment for a small towel on the left. Then my laptop goes in the middle. What’s more, the table comes with a smartphone holder.
All of these plastic parts are also 3D-printed and made to order in Denmark. The three-piece leg set is made from European oak, available in the colours Natural Oak (as shown here), Matt Black and Smoked Oak.
Features and dimensions
- Fits most laptops up to 16 inches (approx. 41 cm) (a MacBook Pro 16" will have a slight overhang at the front)
- Includes holders for a smartphone, bottle and towel
- Plastic parts printed from Tons Bio Polymer
- Legs made from solid European oak timber
- Designed and produced in Denmark
- Table surface: 39.5 x 25 cm
- Height: 96 cm
- Width: 68 cm
- Length: 55 cm

The hipster part: the Tons Wheel Hanger
I’ve left probably the most hipster, and therefore the most unnecessary, bit of kit until last. And somehow it’s also the coolest: the Wheel Hanger. The name says it all, which is why a single gravel wheel has recently been hanging on the wall in my office. At the end of the day, we all deserve a little treat.

Sustainability is also at the heart of the Wheel Hanger. As with all other plastic parts, Tons uses an exclusive, biodegradable Bio Polymer. And yes, it would of course be even more sustainable to do without it. But Christmas is coming up soon, and we all deserve a little treat every now and then.
According to the manufacturer, the part was developed using a flexible foam and produced using 3D printing technology. It boasts a sleek, minimalist design, and is intended to provide optimum protection for the wheel rims, while allowing easy access. I can confirm that.
Features and technical details
- Easy to install (plugs and screws included, Torx T25 bit/screwdriver and Ø8 mm drill bit required)
- 3D-printed from foam for optimum rim protection
- Developed for wheels with 100 mm to 148 mm thru axles
- Designed and produced in Denmark
- Length: 10 cm
- Height: 6 cm
- Width: 2 cm
Cool, simple design from the far north
As you’ll know, Scandinavians are renowned for their straightforward design. Tons products also exude this rugged Nordic charm through their simplicity. I was particularly impressed with the Tons Rack wall mount. Always having a few essentials for gravel cycling where you can see them, and ready for the next ride at a moment’s notice? Just how I like it.
