The Braun NTF 3000 also has its advantages not in the exact measurement, but in the speed as well as the contactless function (so it can also be used with sleeping persons). In addition, incorrect application (wrong measuring point) is more likely with a non-contact thermometer than with a rectal thermometer. Conclusion: The Braun NTF 3000 reliably indicates whether a fever is present. If the height of the fever is relevant, e.g. in the case of a very high fever, a different measuring method should be used.
