Is the box linked to the mobile or does it play it independently? -> Can I add a free Spotify Family account to the box? -> if I take my mobile with me to the shop: can my child listen to music at home via the box?

A free family account can be used for the box.
If you do this, the box is independent of the smartphone, which is only needed to save new playlists etc.
