Is it possible to take a certain number of pictures without a SD card? How many on average? Or is an SD card essential?

The camera only takes photos with an sd card.
I would recommend another camera (an inexpensive, normal camera, not especially for toddlers) because the quality of the photos is miserable and you can delete all the photos on the sd card with the push of a button.
In addition, the camera was defective after a short time.
