1. Märklin 18044 H0 Krokodil CCS700 Messe

Edition of the first-ever crocodile prototype manufactured by Märklin for the H0 gauge in 1936, presented as a trade fair locomotive in the house colors of the trade fair locomotive series for 2025. The chassis and body are made of zinc die-cast. Both bogies are driven by blind axles and coupling rods. A factory-installed mfx decoder allows the locomotive to be used on modern layouts. Due to the reproduction of the historical model, sufficient clearance profile must be ensured. Light change, operational in analog mode. Spring-loaded roof pantographs without electrical function.

Length over buffers: 21 cm.

Originally, the H0 model of the crocodile was planned as early as 1936, intended to be released under the article number CCS 700, and was to be showcased at trade fairs, such as the Leipzig Spring Fair, for sales success even back then. However, it remained just a prototype, not least due to the circumstances of the time. This prototype has now been chosen to enrich the series of Märklin trade fair locomotives in the corresponding black-red color scheme and to keep the spirit of model railroading from long ago alive. The locomotive serves as a bridge between eras, allowing it to be understood as a tribute to the model railway fairs of that time and as proof of how long the hobby of "model railroading" has existed.
