Wiking founder Fritz Peltzer had a good reason for including the first generation Opel Blitz as a classic in the program during the 1970s. The Blitz cab-over was considered a versatile truck not only during the war years but also afterward. Without the Opel Blitz from the war years, the reconstruction after the war would have been more arduous. After all, many hundreds of vehicles from military stocks survived the years and soon found new honor in a new design. The flatbed truck was regarded as reliable, especially since there were still plenty of spare parts available at the time. The cab and flatbed are painted in fern blue. The rims, chassis with cardan part, and rear fenders are in black-blue. The grille, featuring the Blitz logo, is silvered. The front grille bars are kept in black. The rear lights are printed in carmine red on the back side. The headlights are silvered by hand.
