Product details
No classic car meeting is complete without one or more round-nose TLF 16 vehicles – this generation of models is simply indestructible and holds significant historical importance for WIKING. The alligator hood and the roaring Deutz diesel engine under the round hood defined its magnificent appearance at the time. The tank fire truck TLF 16, built by Magirus in Ulm, was a reliable workhorse for many hundreds of fire departments in Germany for years. After all, a fire-fighting centrifugal pump at the rear with a flow rate of 1,600 liters per minute was part of its equipment, as was the 2,400-liter water tank, which was perfect for quick attacks or supply services. The round-nose model was produced from 1955 to 1961 and was deployed throughout Germany with its 125 hp air-cooled 6-cylinder Deutz diesel engine. In the 1970s, most of these veteran vehicles were retired and replaced by forward-control chassis. WIKING has added a significant number of details to the model with a crew cab, contributing to its intricate craftsmanship. Additionally, it features fine mirrors, extension ladder parts, searchlights, as well as A-suction hoses. The cab is painted in carmine red, with the chassis, mirrors, leveling rods (accessories), and searchlights in black, and the interior in brown. The cab has silvered door handles and decorative strips on the sides. The black radiator grille features the Magirus logo and a silvered grille border. The rims are black. The side inscriptions "Magirus Deutz" are in silver. The body roof is in silver-gray, the ladder is in fawn brown, and the suction hoses are black. The searchlight's illuminated area is hand-painted.
