Product details

The power splitter divides the output current of the booster into two or three sections with a maximum current of either 2 or 3 A. This allows for the utilization of the available booster current even with smaller nominal sizes. Since it only monitors the current in the sections and does not interfere with the control of the booster, it can be used with all boosters. Absolute synchronization: When crossing the separation points between booster circuits supplied by different boosters, balancing currents can occur, which can potentially cause short circuits. Additionally, differences between the digital signals in the two booster circuits can disrupt digital operation. Even when using identical boosters, the described problems can arise due to component tolerances. With the use of the power splitter, the output voltage and the propagation time of the digital signals in all connected sections are absolutely synchronized. This ensures that the separation points between the sections can be crossed without issues. Optional connections: Short circuit feedback line: DCC compliant, external emergency stop button to simultaneously shut down all sections. Settings with jumpers (short circuit bridges): Number of active sections: 2 or 3, maximum current in the sections: 2 A or 3 A, separately for each section. Settings using main track programming (POM): Switch addresses for the separate switching on and off of the two or three booster sections with DCC switch commands, switch address for turning the watchdog on and off with DCC switch commands. Short circuit sensitivity: 50 ms, reactivation time after a short circuit: 4 to 9 s. Automatic short circuit shutdown: Shutdown of all branches or just the affected branch. Inrush time: 300 to 500 ms. LED indicators: Branch on/off, short circuit in the connected booster section, emergency stop button pressed.
