Product details
Electric locomotive Ae 3/6 10664 of the Swiss Federal Railways. The electric locomotives of the Ae 3/6 series were procured in several orders from 1921 to 1929. The locomotive 10664 comes from the workshops of SLM and BBC. Due to the long procurement period, technical innovations were also incorporated. This increased the power of the locomotives from 1,450 kW to 1,600 kW. Thanks to their good running characteristics, the maximum speed could also be raised. From 1929, the speed increased from 90 km/h to 100 km/h, and for the stronger locomotives (from No. 10637) in 1937, after adjustments to the running axle bogie, to 110 km/h. The locomotive 10664, built in 1926, was based in the depots of Bern, Zurich, and Rorschach. From 1990 to 2010, it was used as a historical train by the Zurich Lake Railway Friends on the right bank. It is still housed as an operational historical vehicle in the Rapperswil depot and is owned by the Foundation for the Historical Heritage of the SBB.
