Very good construction kit, not only for children.
Great fun and learning effect, not only in the short term, but also in the long term, as robots can easily be built and programmed according to one's own ideas. The programme software (unfortunately not included) is easy to understand, as is the help contained in it.
The downward compatibility with the NXT robot parts is also very good.
Therefore: highly recommended.
Unfortunately, the enclosed operating and building instructions are in English and only for 1 robot type. You have to look for the German instructions on the Internet. The programming software for the PC has to be searched for and downloaded separately on the Internet, but it is available in German and complete with all 5 robot types (as shown on the box). A leaflet with exact addresses and download information would help a lot.
As packaging, I would like to see a box with a lid and possibly compartments so that the parts are not lost after unpacking and can be neatly stored (as with the predecessor model NXT, for example).In the meantime, proven Lego quality. Before...
In the meantime, tried and tested Lego quality. Especially something for dad ;-) Endless possibilities, very easy to get started.
Be sure to download the software, the included brochure only explains how to build a model without any further information.Pro

My 11 year old son has in the shortest...
My 11-year-old son clicked together his own programmes in no time (after installing the software on a PC, connecting via USB cable) after building the original robot according to the instructions and has now arrived at his own creations.
Attention: WLAN only works in conjunction with an additional dongle on the USB port of the Brick, which then sticks out awkwardly. I couldn't get Bluetooth to work with my old Galaxy Tab 10.1, but it did with a Galaxy S3. For both devices there is of course no programming software, which is not included but can be downloaded from the Lego website. However, since the programmes are stored in the Brick and can then be activated wirelessly, this is only a detail.
The Android software for the robot is only used to perform the rudimentary functions forward, backward, left, right and "shoot", which of course also work with other creations if you connect the brick identically.
This starter set for the Mindstorm world definitely meets all the expectations I (and my son) had of it.Pro

Hours of fun with various conversion options. Not only for children ;-)
Ideal "toy" from the age of 12!
Super cool robot with many possibilities. You can do the first programming yourself and then find out more possibilities yourself. Our 12-year-old son is totally happy with it
