Behind the transparent door of the fireplace is the button to turn on the flickering fire. Manual shutdown is not possible. Auto power-off: approximately 60 seconds. It requires 2 x 1.5V micro batteries. There is space for the TV on the sideboard. The two pull-out drawers, the DVD player, and the radio can be used as desired.
