Advent Calendar Vienna St. Stephen's Cathedral
Our Advent calendar features the Vienna St. Stephen's Cathedral, a Roman Catholic cathedral. The history of St. Stephen's Cathedral began in 1365 as a church, it became a cathedral in 1469, and since 1723, it has served as the metropolitan church of the archbishop. The people of Vienna affectionately call St. Stephen's Cathedral, the landmark of Vienna, "Steffl." There are 13 bells in the chime, with the largest and most significant being the Pummerin, which is only rung as a soloist on special occasions. The uniquely designed roof is particularly striking, featuring coat of arms patterns made from differently colored roof tiles. The historic city center of Vienna, with St. Stephen's Cathedral at its heart, and the Schönbrunn Palace are part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The most visited attractions in the world city of Vienna include St. Stephen's Cathedral, Schönbrunn Palace, the Hofburg, the Spanish Riding School, the Albertina, Belvedere Palace, and the Prater with its Ferris wheel. The 24 carefully integrated windows of our Advent calendar will surprise you with lovingly painted regional and Christmas-themed images upon opening. We wish you a joyful Advent season with our Advent calendar.
