The DS18B20 is a temperature sensor based on the DS18B20 chip, consisting of a waterproof probe and a long wire. It is perfectly suited for measuring temperature or detecting something from a distance. The sensor provides 9 to 12-bit (configurable) temperature readings via a 1-Wire interface, allowing only one wire (and ground) to be connected from a central microprocessor.
