The infantry transporter Kfz.70 was a variant of the military vehicle Horch 108 Type 40. This heavy off-road vehicle was produced by Horch and the German branch of Ford until 1942. It served as a multifunctional military transporter for the Wehrmacht and fulfilled a variety of roles across different war theaters, from France to Stalingrad and from North Africa to Scandinavia. Some of these vehicles could be equipped with various armaments, including anti-aircraft guns, twin mounts for 36 anti-aircraft machine gun systems, or MG 34 machine guns. The vehicles equipped in this way were used for air defense, fire support, patrolling, and escorting transport convoys.
