From mid-2002, SBB Cargo put a series of grain silo cars of the type Taggnpps 31 into operation. Originally, the cars were exclusively intended for the transport of sugar and were adorned with corresponding side advertisements. The raw material for one of Switzerland's most important products is predominantly delivered by rail, which is why the cars are now increasingly used for the transport of cocoa from Amsterdam to Switzerland. The striking stainless steel cars usually operate as complete trains, presenting an impressive appearance.
