One day, while Coyote was crossing the river with his friends, he nearly drowned and lost everything he was carrying. The poor Coyote became very sad and also envious. So he challenged the other animals to a game to win their possessions. Being a notorious trickster, he invented a game that allowed for heavy bluffing. Rumor has it that this game is very similar!

In this bluffing game by Spartaco Albertarelli, you can only see the cards of the other players, but never your own. When it's your turn, you must declare a number that is lower than the total sum of all the cards in play, while increasing the last declared number. Alternatively, the previously declared number can be challenged. When all cards are revealed, it becomes clear who has the clever Coyote on their side.

The artist Zona Evon Shroyer (Yupik Alaskan Native) is a master of the traditional art of the Northwest Coast, whose richness of detail and complexity require years of study and practice. For the cover illustration of Coyote, she has given the Coyote a modern silhouette filled with classic animal motifs: turtle, beaver, and bear. These are the animals with whom he sits around the campfire in our little story, playing a game.
