Yakari is a young Sioux Indian who stands out mainly because of his special love for animals and nature. He is the only one in his tribe who has the ability to speak with animals. This eventually led him to find many friends and allies among the forest dwellers. Little Thunder is his black-and-white spotted pony. Little Thunder supports Yakari and helps him when he occasionally doubts his abilities. He is fast and very brave.
