I have already used the iGrill 3 for two years with various phones (but no XR) and it has never broken down, whereby I was always standing no more than 3 m away from the grill. I would test it with other phone models of colleagues and if it is the same there, then it is possibly due to the iGrill 3, possibly also test the batteries.
