In my case, the pump was also in the barrel from spring to the end of November, without any problems. Depending on the cleanliness of the water, the filter must be cleaned from time to time.

I had the pump in the barrel all summer. Never had any problems. Before it freezes, I think I will drain all the water and put the pump into winter service.
