The black Scotchlok connector withstands a maximum voltage of 30 volts and a temperature limit of 105 °C. It can be used in the fields of control, measurement, and regulation, as well as in the electrical and switchgear construction of vehicles. Its operation is based on the principle of the U-element: the wires to be connected are inserted into the connector without the need to remove their insulation beforehand. By applying gentle pressure with the Scotchlok tool, the U-elements remove the wire insulation, thereby increasing the contact area and establishing contact with the conductor. The spring-loaded U-element grips the individual wires, ensuring a mechanically strong, vibration-resistant, electrically flawless, and durable connection. The connector has been tested in the high-voltage testing room of 3M Deutschland GmbH according to VDE 0606, 0607, 0303, 0470, and IEC23F, and has passed all conditions. All Scotchlok connectors are UL and CSA listed.

It ensures electrical insulation and mechanical protection for cable connections. Free from SVHC, it complies with EN 50393 and can be used indoors and outdoors, as well as underground or underwater. The transparent, one-piece casting shell can be easily folded together and locks automatically. Additionally, pre-shaped, perforated foam seals are used, eliminating the previously time-consuming need for saws and tape for a tight seal. During the pouring of the included 3M Scotchcast Casting Resin 40, a GMG system for closed mixing and pouring is utilized, effectively excluding contact with the casting resin during processing. The transparent mixing bag ensures visual control of the mixing process. After use, the mixing bag with the remnants of cured casting resin can be disposed of as regular household waste. Disposal as hazardous waste is not necessary.
