The 3M Scotchlok connector is suitable for connecting single or multi-stranded cables in installation wiring technology. With a cross-section of 0.5-1.5 square millimeters, it allows for a continuous connection even with uncut wires. The black Scotchlok connector withstands a maximum voltage of 30 volts and a temperature limit of 105 °C. It can be used in the fields of control, measurement, and regulation, as well as in the electrical and switchgear construction of vehicles. Its operation is based on the principle of the U-element: the wires to be connected are inserted into the connector without the need to remove their insulation beforehand. By applying gentle pressure with the Scotchlok tool, the U-elements remove the wire insulation, thereby increasing the contact area and establishing contact with the conductor. The spring-loaded U-element grips the individual wires, ensuring a mechanically strong, vibration-resistant, electrically flawless, and durable connection. The connector has been tested in the high-voltage testing room of 3M Deutschland GmbH according to VDE 0606, 0607, 0303, 0470, and IEC23F, and has passed all conditions. All Scotchlok connectors are UL and CSA listed.
