That holiday feeling on your own terrace As temperatures rise, welcome shade on the terrace, balcony and in the garden becomes increasingly important. Sun sails offer a practical solution. They are quick and easy to put up, cost-effective compared to a pergola or similar structures, and can be taken down at any time. Once the fixings are in place, you can easily hoist a sun sail in a different colour whenever you like – for a completely new look. The muted colours also have the advantage that – unlike pure white, for example – they do not cause glare in extreme sunlight. Pleasant shade provided by a sun sail also has the advantage that no valuable space is lost as a standing area, as is the case with a parasol. And in winter, the sun sail can simply be taken down and stowed away to save space. Sun sails are not only suitable for patios; you can also conjure up a fantastic sun canopy on a balcony, on the lawn, over the pool or the sandpit. The only requirement is that the sail must be able to be secured at three points. The coated polyester fabric (180 g/m²) is wind- and water-repellent, thereby extending your living space during the warmer months by creating a cosy spot outdoors. The UV protection rating of 50+ offers very high protection against harmful UV radiation and is roughly equivalent to the sun cream protection factor – perfect for enjoying the lovely weather in safety. Reinforced hems are particularly important on a sun sail, as they ensure a secure fit – and prevent the sides from tearing, even in windy conditions. How do I find the right sun sail? To find the right sun sail for the area where you want to create shade, there are various factors to consider.
