Cherry Chisel
Chisel, short, lightweight, according to DIN 5139 with side bevels, featuring a flattened beechwood handle.
Our chisels (gouges, chisels) are hand-forged from a special tool steel. The forging process further enhances the material structure of the Cherry chisels. The heat treatment in a salt bath achieves a hardness of ± HRc 61 throughout the entire usable length of the blade, significantly exceeding the requirements of the German DIN standard. Our self-developed polishing technique creates a scratch-free surface that allows for a smooth cut and easier penetration into the wood. Our chisels are factory-made with a cutting angle of 25°. This angle is excellent for soft to medium-hard woods. However, before the chisels are used for the first time, they should be honed with a sharpening stone to achieve a razor-sharp edge. To work successfully with the chisel for many years, we recommend cleaning the tool with a lightly oiled cloth after each use. The oil film applied in this way protects the chisel from moisture and thus from rust. This significantly extends the lifespan and enjoyment of the tool.
