Product details

Arc Fault Detection Device (AFDD) with Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB) according to IEC/EN 62606 (VDE 0665-10) and IEC/EN 60898-1 (VDE 0641-11) provides protection against series and parallel arc faults, overcurrent protection (overload or short circuit), surge protection (only for internal AFDD), and protection against electrically ignited fires in accordance with DIN VDE 0100-420.

Mandatory application areas according to DIN VDE 01000 are in single-phase AC systems with In = 16 A in sleeping or living areas of homes and day care facilities for children, disabled or elderly individuals, or in barrier-free apartments, as well as in rooms or locations with fire risk (with special fire hazards, fire-prone workplaces), predominantly made of combustible materials. The risk to irreplaceable goods - cultural assets of particularly high value - must also be taken into account. AFDDs are recommended in single-phase final circuits that supply electrical devices in the mentioned areas or traverse these areas.

In general, the AFDD is also recommended to enhance fire protection against electrically ignited fires.

An LED indicator helps identify the cause of the tripping. The supply can be from above or below, and cross-wiring to RCDs in the rear terminal area is possible. Accessories for the pro M compact® system can be added.

The rated short-circuit capacity according to IEC/EN 60898-1 is Icn=6kA. The AFDD+MCB S-ARC1 is single-pole protected (LS) and two-pole switching.
