The Borea climbing helmet is new to Petzl's helmet family and is a lightweight all-rounder. Weighing 305 grams, it reliably protects the head during sport climbing, mountaineering, via ferrata, canyoning, and caving. The Borea is a hybrid construction climbing helmet, which means that beneath the hard outer shell, which distributes the impact energy of falling objects, a foam core fits snugly around the head and absorbs shocks and impacts through deformation. This makes the helmet compact in design, fits well on the head, and is very robust. It can be individually adjusted via the flexible headband, and the back is slightly lowered. The design, size, and headband allow for the helmet, specifically designed for women, to be worn comfortably with long hair tied in a ponytail. The large lateral ventilation holes ensure good helmet climate. In addition to protection from impacts from above, Petzl has also equipped the Borea with side impact protection, which provides additional head protection, especially in falls and impacts against rocks or ice.
