The hub that started the whole single speed mountain bike craze. The Wacky One-Speed Rear Device (W.O.R.D.) not only sets standards to this day, such as the 52 mm single speed chainline, but also demonstrates that small component manufacturers can successfully compete against large manufacturers. The WORD hub allows for maximum wheel stability through a symmetrical or dishless design. It features high-quality machined screws, referred to as Paul Comp Fancy Bolts. The washers are deeply knurled, providing excellent grip on the dropouts without damaging them. The axle and bearing adjustment mechanism have been further improved, securing the WORD single speed hub a solid place as a heritage component in Paul's own words. The WORD single speed hub from Paul Comp is available in 32 and 36 hole configurations in silver, polished silver, or black.
