The Grand Prix 5000 S Tubeless Ready is lighter, faster, and features a reinforced sidewall. It sets the standard for road bike tubeless ready technology. Ride faster, more comfortably, and with even greater puncture protection. Vectran is a high-tech fiber made synthetically, inspired by nature. Like spider silk, Vectran is a liquid crystalline polymer. Vectran is spun from the molten liquid polymer Vectra and further processed into a multi-fiber yarn. Both spider silk and Vectran have an enormous tear resistance at minimal weight. These properties are ideal for use as a puncture protection insert in a Continental top tire. A Vectran breaker is lighter, more flexible, and provides more effective protection against cuts than comparable nylon breakers, without affecting rolling resistance.
