I've had this machine for 10 years. It actually heats up in 10 minutes. The strength of the Olympia Maximatic lies in its components: nothing in plastic, the water tank in stainless steel. It's a machine that will last (several decades) when it's well maintained and makes a very good coffee: it's based on the system of the first Italian espresso machines. That counts too, and puts the energy footprint into perspective (which can be reduced by turning the machine off after making a coffee).
