Does it need the internet to operate or does it also run locally? What data is transferred to the cloud, if this can be recognised.

To connect the Roborock to the app, you have to connect the hoover to the wifi. I have never tried using the vacuum cleaner without the app. According to Roborock it is possible but of course only with the rudimentary settings. Unfortunately, I can't answer the second question.
