What is a Denier?

A Denier is the unit of measurement for the thickness of the yarn from which stockings and tights are made. The lower the Denier number (8, 10, 15, 20, etc.), the thinner and more transparent the stocking or panty. Conversely, the higher the number (40, 70, etc.), the thicker the stocking and the skin is less visible.

On the other hand, there are opaque microfiber tights and leggings in 50 and 100 Den, where the skin is hardly visible. Their use is common in autumn and winter. Tights and leggings with a low Denier number are typically used for the spring-summer season.
