Has anyone already developed a skin rash or is the silicone safe?
I've been wearing the watch every day for a few months ... no problems :)
I have had rashes before, but always in combination with sweat (I am hypersensitive to alkaline solutions). I therefore think that this would also happen with other materials. That's why I sometimes just change the watch to the other arm. Unlike latex allergies, I am not familiar with silicone allergies. I am therefore happy to be taught.
This depends on the composition of the silicone, but also on the person wearing it. There are people who can react allergically to silicone. However, I would not worry about the composition. Such products always have to pass certain tests before they are allowed on the market. As long as you don't have an allergy to silicone, I don't think you need to worry.
Have exactly the same problem with the rash after only one week.... Will have a look around to see if there are alternative wristbands.
Since I ended up here with a Samsung Watch with a silicone band, I'll give you my 50 cents. The silicone band does not seem to be a problem, as I have read several times. On the other hand, soap residue after washing hands or wearing the watch too tightly and sweat build-up under the strap seems to be a problem.
I wonder how a heart rate monitor should work when the wristband is worn casually. My solution will probably be to change the wristband to get away from the sealing silicone.
Some will now ask themselves, he is writing about Samsung. That's right, but I'm talking about the silicone strap. Greetz...
